Fintech Ireland doesn't consult or provide any such paid type services. We don't raise revenue and therefore we make no profit. All costs associated with Fintech Ireland's activities are paid by the collaborators or event sponsors./organisers. Please do not ask Fintech Ireland to do something for you unless you have reciprocated in equal measure/value to support the work of Fintech Ireland.
Our collaborators may offer services pro-bono or for fees unrelated to the Fintech Ireland project.
Each year we partner with Investnet to deliver the Fintech Ireland Summit. There is a cost to running a conference - it is expensive. A moderate charge to attend (well below other industry conferences) is payable by attendees and is paid to Investnet to cover hire of venue, staffing on the day, audio/video equipment, food, drinks and an event dinner. Any excess funds that could be paid to Fintech Ireland are instead re-invested into the following year's event.

“Every jurisdiction in fintech is going to have its own angle ... unless Ireland is out there telling its story, nobody’s going to know about it, and we’re not going to get the business. That’s the real issue.” Peter Oakes, Founder of Fintech Ireland

Peter Oakes formally founded Fintech Ireland in September 2013 to give a unique identity to the promotion and facilitation of the fintech scene in Ireland and promotes the Irish fintech scene globally.
He is recognised by Chambers & Partners as a leading consultant in its Fintech 2020 international rankings.
Fintech Ireland is independent and we are connected throughout the fintech ecosystem locally and internationally to fintech startups, C-Suite fintech professionals at traditional and challenger institutions, innovation hubs, accelerators, trade bodies, governments, embassies and investors. Together with Fintech Ireland, Peter established www.fintechuk.com (and now www.ukfintech.com), www.fintechoz.com and www.us-fintech.com.
Peter is a non-executive director of regulated financial services companies and regtech and fintech companies (Ireland, UK & Denmark). He also sits on the advisory committee of a number of fintech/regtech entities. He is a Member of the Panel of the Fintech20 Ireland. Peter consults on fintech/regtech, financial services regulation, enforcement and business strategy. He has been working on fintech initiatives since 2009, including while Director at the Central Bank of Ireland (2010-2013) where he was a proponent of new technology to provide less friction, more efficiency and greater innovation in Irish financial services. In 2009 Peter was the lead consultant to one Ireland's great fintech success stories as it pursued a license from the Irish regulator. Peter is regarded internationally as a fintech, regtech, central banking and financial regulation expert. He has spoken at numerous conferences and events, including most recently the inaugural and hugely successful Money2020 Europe event in Copenhagen, Denmark on legal and regulatory issues in fintech and payments (see https://www.money2020europe.com/speakers/peter-oakes). Peter is a non-executive board director of regulated institutions in Ireland and the United Kingdom and sits on the advisory committees of numerous technology businesses in Ireland and overseas. Whenever he can, he will engage with new businesses to help steer them to navigate complex technology, strategic, financing and regulatory issues. Where he cannot be of personal assistance, Peter will refer you to a panel of experts which we trust at Fintech Ireland - it's your call if you choose to use them after our introduction!
Peter's cumulative background as a lawyer (Ireland, UK and Australia), non-executive director, Board Director and Chief Risk Officer at Bank of America Merchant Services Europe and Director of the Central Bank of Ireland gives him unique and uncompromising experience to help lead Ireland's fintech offering.
